Get to know the people who make Camp Nan A Bo Sho what it is.

Meet the Directors
Camp Nan A Bo Sho is led by two passionate outdoor educators with decades of experience between them. Together, Danielle and Jacob bring a deep commitment to youth development, wilderness adventure, and the transformative power of camp.
Danielle "Chip" Polzin — Camp Director
For over three decades, Danielle has been a figure in the world of camping — weaving her passion, expertise, and leadership into the fabric of countless camp experiences. Her journey began as a camper herself, canoeing and kayaking through some of the world’s most breathtaking lakes, and evolved into a distinguished career marked by dedication to youth development and outdoor education. That foundation inspired her to earn a degree in Elementary Education — a decision that allowed her to blend her love of the outdoors with a profound desire to make a difference in the lives of children. Danielle’s favorite part of camp life is the wilderness trips. She believes deeply in the transformative power of nature and adventure — viewing expeditions not as trips, but as carefully crafted experiences that foster independence, teamwork, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the environment. Away from camp, Danielle is a devoted mother to three daughters, each with her own spirit of adventure, and is rarely found far from the outdoors — or her faithful Goldendoodle, Montana.
Jacob "Grommit" Schroyer — Assistant Camp Director
Jacob’s love for the outdoors began early, shaped by a mother who took him on countless wilderness adventures — including canoe trips through the Boundary Waters and bike tours across Minnesota and Wisconsin. Raised in the camp environment from age one, Jacob spent every summer at camp long before he was old enough to be a camper or staff member. At eighteen, he stepped into his first official camp role as a water ski instructor, then joined Camp Nan A Bo Sho as a trip leader — guiding campers through the same kinds of wilderness experiences that shaped his own childhood. Jacob pursued a degree in biology, a field that blends seamlessly with his work outdoors. He brings his scientific knowledge to camp every day, helping campers see the fascinating details and unique features of the natural world around them. Today, as Assistant Director, Jacob supports campers and staff as they grow, overcome challenges, and discover their own passions for nature and adventure. Outside of camp, he can still be found exploring the Northwoods of Wisconsin — or traveling the world, one country at a time.
