Get InvolvedVolunteer at the Y
Make a Difference Right Here
When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in bringing meaningful, lasting change to your own neighborhood. Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do — we were founded by a volunteer and we continue to be governed by volunteers today. A great many of our programs for children, families and people of all abilities are only possible because of the incredible people in our community who give their time. Volunteering is about more than sharing what you have — it is about the satisfaction of knowing you are helping people become stronger.
Why Volunteer With the Y?
There are as many reasons to volunteer as there are people who do it. Some come to give back to a place that shaped them. Others want to build new skills or find connection in a busy world. Whatever brings you here, you will find a welcoming team and a role that fits your life. Here is what our volunteers tell us they love most:
- Give back to your neighborhood and community
- Build valuable work and leadership experience
- Connect with people who share your values
- Be part of something bigger than yourself
- Have fun — this is the Y, after all
Current Volunteer Opportunities
We have volunteer opportunities at every branch and for a wide range of interests and schedules. From family events and community fun runs to youth sports and after-school programs, there is a way for you to get involved that fits your life. After you submit your interest form, a member of our team will reach out to discuss the right fit for you.
Togetherhood®
At the Y, we are dedicated to strengthening community by giving back and supporting our neighbors. We invite you to participate in Togetherhood®, a program that gives Y members the opportunity to select, plan, lead and participate in meaningful community service projects that benefit people and organizations right here in our neighborhood!
If you have the idea and the drive, we can help you make it happen!
Y-Service Club
The Appleton Y-Service Club meets twice per month (September through April) at the Appleton YMCA. Members develop a program schedule, which includes community speakers, Y staff presentations orienting members to Y programs, social events, and planning fundraising events to help the YMCA support innovative, impactful programming for youth, adults, and families.
