Make a Difference Right Here
When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in bringing meaningful, lasting change to your own neighborhood. Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do — we were founded by a volunteer and we continue to be governed by volunteers today. A great many of our programs for children, families and people of all abilities are only possible because of the incredible people in our community who give their time. Volunteering is about more than sharing what you have — it is about the satisfaction of knowing you are helping people become stronger.

Why Volunteer With the Y?
There are as many reasons to volunteer as there are people who do it. Some come to give back to a place that shaped them. Others want to build new skills or find connection in a busy world. Whatever brings you here, you will find a welcoming team and a role that fits your life. Here is what our volunteers tell us they love most:
- Give back to your neighborhood and community
- Build valuable work and leadership experience
- Connect with people who share your values
- Be part of something bigger than yourself
- Have fun — this is the Y, after all

Time commitments vary by role and event. Some opportunities are single-day events while others are ongoing — we will work with your schedule to find the right fit.
Absolutely. We welcome students looking for their first volunteer experience, community service hours or a chance to build career skills in a supportive environment.
