Empowering the Leaders of Tomorrow
At the Y, we believe every child, teen, and adult has the potential to make a real difference in the world — and we’re here to help them find it. Our Education & Leadership programs inspire confidence, build character, and encourage active community involvement at every age. Through mentorship, hands-on learning, and real-world experiences, participants discover what they’re capable of and learn how to lead with purpose. Whether it’s training to protect lives, taking the floor at the State Capitol, or simply becoming someone others can look up to, leadership starts here.

Our Programs
From safety training to civic leadership, our Education & Leadership programs are designed to meet people where they are and challenge them to grow. Here’s what’s available through this area of the Y.
Youth and Teen
Every day, we work to help youth set and achieve their personal and educational goals. Through our Youth and Teen programs, young people receive the guidance they need to build confidence, develop positive habits, and grow into successful adults. Our caring staff and mentors create an environment where every young person feels supported and seen.
Safety Classes
Safety training programs make protecting and saving lives possible. At the Y, we offer a unique classroom setting that encourages discussion and builds real skills — helping young adults grow in their desire and ability to be a positive force in the community. From babysitting safety to CPR and first aid, these classes give participants knowledge that truly matters.
Spiritual Development
Through our mission, the Y is committed to helping you build a healthy spirit. We offer a variety of ways to support your spiritual development, including a welcoming, non-denominational Bible study open to all. No pre-reading required — just come ready to share, listen, and connect with others in a friendly atmosphere.
What You'll Gain
Our Education & Leadership programs are built to develop the whole person — not just skills, but character, confidence, and a sense of purpose that carries into every part of life.
Leadership Skills
Programs build confidence, decision-making, and teamwork — skills that serve participants in school, careers, and daily life.
Civic Engagement
Participants are inspired to take an active role in their communities and see how their actions can create real, lasting change.
Lifelong Learning
Whether you’re a teen or an adult, there are meaningful opportunities here for personal growth at every stage of life.
Role Models
Our programs help youth and adults become leaders others can look up to — in their families, schools, and neighborhoods.
Wisconsin's Largest YIG Delegation
Youth in Government is a national YMCA program for students in grades 7–12 — and the YMCA of the Fox Cities proudly hosts the largest student-driven delegation in Wisconsin. Participants research current issues, draft public policy proposals, and present their ideas at a Model Assembly Session at the State Capitol. The program is led by student-elected co-presidents who, with guidance from adult advisors, run meetings, make key decisions, and oversee fundraising. It’s real leadership — not a simulation.
